Alumni Development Day

31st August 2018

Smart Thinking for Better Decisions, Action and Results

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Make better decisions using Dr Edward de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats

In the morning we will explore a technique that helps put our opinions and egos aside to really listen to others and focus on a way forward, without argument.

Six Thinking Hats is fast-paced, practical and interactive.  You will learn how to separate emotion from facts, the positive from the negative and critical thinking from creative thinking.

After lunch, we will break up into small action learning sets where you will have the chance to try out these new skills.

So get out your Log Book and Learning Guide. What plan did you make the last time we met? What have you done since then? What worked and didn’t? What questions from your Log Book are worth exploring? Bring your reflections to the day and receive the support of your peers to make improvements to your life on the things that matter most to you.

Alumni Development Days are held twice a year.  One in February and one later in the year.  The purpose of the day is to expand on the learnings from the South Burnett Community Leadership Program (SBCLP) for personal development and to connect and strengthen the alumni to better develop the region.

These workshops provide graduates  with an opportunity to:

  • Reconnect with fellow Alumni
  • Meet past and current year Alumni
  • Forge new networks
