Hi, I’m Tina Torrens, Director of Torkit Business Solutions.
After spending 19 years working at TAFE as a Training Consultant and later as a Business Teacher, I decided in 2014 to embark on the next chapter of my journey by starting my own business.
Over time my work has evolved to combine my background in training with a passion for media production and storytelling. Today, video production forms a significant part of the services we offer through Torkit, along with fire safety training, evacuation diagrams and workplace health and safety support.
Having lived in the South Burnett since 1994 on our family farm near Kingaroy, where my husband and I raised our two sons, I feel very connected to the region and the people who live and work here.
Our Studio / Our Story
In 2020 we moved the office from the Enterprise Centre in Kingaroy to a small cottage on the family farm. Since then the space has become a fun and creative place for a range of filming and training projects. Over the years we have filmed everything from music videos, first aid training videos and cooking demonstrations through to interviews, book readings and other creative projects. Working from the farm also allows us to enjoy the beautiful South Burnett surroundings while producing content for businesses and community organisations across the region.
Where the Name “Torkit” Comes From
People often ask where the name Torkit comes from. It is simply made up from the first three letters of my married and maiden names. I wanted a business name that felt personal and reflected the journey behind the business. And yes, Tina Torrens from Torkit Business Solutions can be a bit of a tongue twister!
